This was because, the earliest education was in English and Sarawakians still wanted to maintain that way. Being a politician, I have to maintain our Sarawak rights on two grounds. First, this was what was agreed and decided by the people of Sarawak when Tunku wanted Sarawak to be in his Malaysia Plan. Second, many older generations who got their education in English are still alive and are our beacons our lives. They were the people that guided this land to what it is today and we must respect their decision when they said English must be preserved, but, this had been much diluted with a stroke of a pen from the Federal Government. This gave the impression that Sarawak had no or little voice ruled by Federal Government.

Of course, West Malaysian police officers posted here have serious disadvantages in performing their work when English was used in courts and in the administration. You may also need to understand that many people were innocent, but, were later charged in court because of the lack of understanding in Bahasa Malaysia. At the same time, many were also charged in court because West Malaysia officers could not understand English. These innocent people became victims of the system and for West Malaysians and locals who only knew Bahasa Malaysia, I hope you need to understand English language well. This is because, we don't want innocent people to go to the gallows because of lack of understanding of the English language. Being a retired officer in the Police Force, I knew what police officers were capable of as many when out of frustrations just wanted to finish their work but forgot that being police officers they should also dispense justice. They forgot that police officers were also officers of the Court and should see justice not only be heard, but justice be done. Remember that justice is not only for the state, but, justice is also for the accused.VOON LEE SHANhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04591212783831724001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4628235739908723591.post-63926278201504428822008-12-13T22:54:00.000+08:002008-12-13T22:54:00.000+08:00English is the language of courts in sarawak. Othe...English is the language of courts in sarawak. Other languages, including Bahasa malaysia are forbidden from being used for proceedings in our courts other than for taking of evidence. This is because the national language Act 1963/67 (Act 32) has not been extended to sarawak until today. The act cannot comes into sarawak because the state legislative assembly of sarawak has not approve by an ordinance the act or the relevant provision of it pursuant to article 161(3) of the federal constitution. Sometimes dpp and lawyers used B. malaysia in Proceeding in Sarawak courts. Do you agree that the proceeding in bahasa languanges in sarawak courts are illegal, unconstitutional and null because the proceeding in sarawak courts shall be in english as decreed by article 161(1), 161(2) (b) and 152 of the federal Constitution. After that, they, the Federal Government will move on to some other states to do the same things. They are just like a swarm of grasshoppers moving from green to other greens. The problem now is, how many more states can be as "rich" as Sarawak in oil, gas, timber, land, quarry and maybe "corruption". I remember the song in Ghost Buster. Who you're going to call, ghost buster. In this case, who you're going call, SeeeRawak!真相https://www.blogger.com/profile/11695741884258155088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4628235739908723591.post-57775675792291138812008-06-29T21:59:00.000+08:002008-06-29T21:59:00.000+08:00You are right! The problem of a global language is ...You are right!

The problem of a global language is becoming increasingly confused!

I visited Kuching last year, ideal holiday - Hilton Hotel gave excellent service!

However apart from the Hotel, the general populace did not speak English at all.
